Pera Film Presents a New Film Program “The Photographer” in Conjunction with Samih Rifat Exhibition
Pera Film, in conjunction with its ongoing exhibition Samih Rifat: “There’s a Lot to Do”, introduces a new film program that explores the boundaries of seeing, capturing, and interpreting. The “The Photographer” program will feature six films between May 2nd and May 25th, inviting cinema lovers to embark on a journey into the nature of perspective, reality perception, and the memory of images.
As part of the Samih Rifat: “There’s a Lot to Do” exhibition, Pera Film presents a special selection of films that examine the intersection of photography and cinema. This program, consisting of five films screening at the Pera Museum Auditorium and one film available online, takes audiences on a deep dive into the world of visual media, showcasing the works of iconic photographers and their connection to cinema.

The Salt of the Earth (directed by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado): This acclaimed documentary follows the journey of renowned photographer Sebastião Salgado from human tragedies to the natural world. It will screen at Pera Museum Auditorium on May 10th (Saturday) and May 23rd (Friday).

Rear Window (directed by Alfred Hitchcock): Hitchcock’s iconic thriller showcases the link between photography and cinema, focusing on a photographer who uncovers a mystery through his lens. It will be shown on May 3rd (Saturday) and May 9th (Friday).
